Time for a new Beveridge for the age of ageing

 

ILC-UK have published a new book which outlines the challenge ageing poses to the UK welfare state.  Alongside the book, ILC-UK have published a new Welfare State Effectiveness Index which judges the effectiveness of the UK welfare state ‘mediocre’ when compared  to other European countries.

The Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) has created a new web resource to support those working in the field of dementia.  The site provides a summary and overview of data, research and policy on dementia across the island of Ireland (between 2010 and 2014).

ILC-UK Launches the European Adult Immunisation Hub

 

The International Longevity Centre – UK has launched the European Adult Immunisation Hub, the aims of which are to highlight developments in adult immunisation, and host new original content designed to promote vaccine uptake.  It currently features a range of multimedia resources targeted at policy makers, including videos, infographics and vaccination stories.

Funding award for Centres of Excellence in neurodegenerative disease research

 

The third funding call from The Centres of Excellence in Neurodegenerative disease (CoEN) initiative has resulted in £3.6m being awarded to 11 international ‘Pathfinder’ innovative projects, which, if successful, will provide a step change in neurodegeneration research.
